... blonde waitress tied up in the family shed. Father says when he touches the demon they will see that the woman is not a woman but evil. When father touches the woman he certainly looks like he feels something, but Fenton is positive it's just a woman his father is about to butcher. All the while brother Adam stands by and watches as daddy uses his holy axe to murder a satanic trespasser.
The father continues to bring "demons" home and burying them in the garden with the help of his sons. Fenton has decided to rebel and turn in his dad. It doesn't work and his father kills the sheriff claiming that this is the only human being he's ever killed. Shorty after dad throws Fenton into a cellar for a week until he sees God and hears his message. After a week Fenton is let out and tells his father he has seen God and understands. Fenton helps his father capture the next demon. Dad wants Fenton to dispatch this one himself to prove he is filled with the word of God, but right before Fenton goes to chop of the man's head he... I'm not gonna tell you how it ends. I've spoiled enough.
Under the direction of Bill Paxton the film has a solid story to tell with an obvious lack of blood and guts. That's right there's a ton of slayage but no gore. There's a blood splatter here and there, but that's it. So it's mostly left to the imagination, which usually pisses me off. I don't wanna use my imagination. I like the gore, but, I didn't mind so much with this story. It even has a satisfying ending. Where as most movies would give you the "I'm killing people because I see them as demons." Storyline and just make our killer crazy this one gives you the goods and lets you know that he's really been killing demons and he has heard the word of God. I like that.
