... to him, Marie has been hiding and witnesses his killing spree. Which seems kind of spineless when she coulda' just took him on and saved some people. But you'll find out why soon enough.

What starts out as a gory home invasion becomes a cat and mouse game to see if Marie can save Alexia from Le tueur. It's filmed beautifully and the scenes of Maries constant hiding are absolutely full of tension. So yeah, the title is apt. All of the gore is jaw dropping. Seriously kids, some of the best effects ever. My biggest complaint with "High Tension" is the physiological twist ending. After my two viewings I had a few discussions with other film nerds. Most didn't care and said that everything else in the film made up for whatever lame ending takes place. I tend to agree, it's just a shame that some many of us have become such jaded movie goers that a simple obvious answer isn't enough for us. Like we're screaming..."Please make it more complicated!" Point is, "High Tension" is a bloody red gem of a film.
