... to figure out her boyfriends' motivation for suicide the world is slowly being devoured by the virus or the "pulse" that Josh has released into the world via his computer. Mattie is not alone in her search for the truth. She bumps into bad boy Dexter (Ian Somerhalder) who seems to have found the origin of the pulse. Which may or may not be the conglomeration of the world's pain and suffering. It's up to Mattie and Dexter to destroy the pulse before it destroys their surviving friends and the world.

Pulse has an awesome dark tone that I absolutely fell for. Usually I get so bored with the Japanese remakes. For some reason ghost tales with lots of symbolism just don't translate well as American films. The original Asian versions are almost always superior. Pulse however stands on its own. It gave me a chill. There's a point in the film where you're so interested in Mattie's struggle that you don't realize how far gone the world is. The streets are empty, doors are sealed with tape. It's pretty scary. And an ending that kind of makes you go....huh? But in a good way.
