... just Satan in a little girls form. Either way Alessa is waging a war against a cultish religion that is trapped in Silent Hill. Christabella (Alice Krige) is the leader of these zealots responsible for the burning of Alessa. Alessa's mother Dahlia Gillespie (Debra Kara Unger) wanders the possessed streets longing for her tortured daughter. Rose and Cybil just wanna get the hell outta' Dodge with Sharon in tow.

Whilst our heroines wander through hell, Christopher, in the real world, is uncovering the true story of the demise of a once thriving town. He's stopped at every turn by Detective Thomas Gucci (Kim Coates) who wants the towns secrets kept secret. Eventually he puts all the pieces together and realizes who is adopted daughter is, but before he makes one last attempt to enter Silent Hill, Detective Gucci tosses him out of town.

Meanwhile Rose meets evil Alessa. Evil Alessa fills in all the gaps of our story and gives Rose the power to destroy Christabella's cult. Sadly they burn Cybil in a witch burning ritual. Rose arrives just in time to stop the burning of Good Alessa (Sharon) just to get stabbed in the chest by Christobella. Unbeknownst to the cult, Evil Alessa has gained entrance to their sanctuary by hiding inside Rose. Evil Alessa destroys them all delivering a disgusting wet death to Christobella. Rose, remarkably healed, escapes with Sharon and they drive out of Silent Hill....maybe.

Directed by Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf) and written by Roger Avery (Beowolf) it's a solid horror tale. The visuals in the film are awesome. It however has a few incredibly dry moments. The monsters that roam Silent Hill are the nightmare inducing characters from the video game fantastically realized on celluloid. I do recommend this movie to any who like an odd creep show. The characters are solid and the locations absolutely haunting. If you get tired of shooting monsters on your PS2 then switch to the movie version and get sore thumbs from gripping your couch in fright.
