... the Villa seems like a dream. Tons of room, a garden with a pool, and just steps away from a village. Right when Sarah is about to spill her latest story on to the page a young girl, Julie (Ludivine Sagnier), blows in like a storm turning Sarah peace and quiet to anything but. Julie turns out to be John's daughter who lives in Paris, but was tired of the city. Sarah is outraged that she has to share space with this unannounced guest. Things get worse when Julie brings home strange men to loudly procreate with.

I know all of the above just sounds like a drama for the menopausal set, but the charm is in the lead up to the trouble that Sarah and Julie get into. A murder of a young man that both women were attracted to becomes the center of the story. And Sarah and Julie form an unlikely bond to hide a secret. Yes, "Swimming Pool" tends to be slow at moments but the ending has some eerie payoff and an ending that makes you go hmmm. Because of the films erotic feel, I would absolute recommend it as a date movie, it's not blatant but definitely arousing.
