... they have no other choice but to find a phone or a gas station the gang stumbles upon a ghost town. Not like with saloons and the like, but a town trapped in the 50's with a huge museum boasting the name "House of Wax". Turns out it's a "wax" town. An old exhibit and the gang aren't really alone. That's when they start getting picked off one by one by a pair of creepy brothers that are the soul inhabitants of this wax utopia. One is normal enough looking and kind of handsome Bo (Brian Van Holt) and Vincent (played by the same actor) who hides his facial deformities behind his long hair and some kind of creepy wax mask.
I've already said that I am not a fan of this films set up, but when they get to the wax town the movie gets so much better. When we finally get to see how people are turned into wax figures? Well, it even made me kind of squeamish. The special gore effects are great. The brothers are so odd and backwoods that they instantly make great villains/killers. I'm only giving "House of Wax" 3 stars, mostly because of what you have to sit through to get to the good stuff. But if you can make it past that, it's a fun ride. Just remember...Paris Hilton pole through head....totally worth it.
