... make Cassie act very peculiar and relate to the dead girl a little more than she would on any other case.

Meanwhile we meet Richard Haywood (Ryan Gosling) the high schools most popular bad boy and Justin Pendleton (Michael Pitt) the schools biggest nerdy outcast. But that's just a facade....Rich and Justin are really very good friends who are obsessed with sharing the same mind. Their homoerotic relationship is very disturbing. And no, I don't mean "ewwww, boys kissing"...they share a lot of creepy long stares and weepy hugs. The absence of sexual physicality is what makes these boys way scarier. And yet, not enough to fuel an interest in either one of them as a hero or a victim for the rest of the film. They're the ones that killed the girl in the woods. The big plan is to get away with the perfect murder. And they just might have if it wasn't for those meddling detectives.

The rest of the movie is all about Cassie's dark past and her figuring out how these boys murdered this woman. It's Cassie's hunch from the very beginning that the boys did it, but no one believes her. And the boy's are just so clever that she keeps missing them at every uninteresting turn. No, really....it's a snoozer. Even for a Sandra fan, it's a Yawn-a-palooza. Yes the movie has fun actors, but no real meat. Just when you think something interesting may happen, you're let down thinking..."Well yeah, I knew that."
