... and has violent fits. With all of this set up the evening before a holiday...we find the next day Nathan's daughter has been kidnapped, Elisabeth knows something the kidnappers NEED to know, but Elisabeth, you guessed it...won't say a word.
The film has some really great twists and turns as Nathan uncovers onion layer after onion layer from Elisabeth's mind. However it does get a wee bit convoluted as the introduction of Detective Sandra Cassidy (Jennifer Esposito) is thrown into the mix. Everything comes together, but for the most part Detective Cassidy is a useless character to the actual plot. I may be throwing the negative at you but I really enjoyed "Don't Say a Word." At the beginning you may want to dismiss it immediately when they give you that kinda boring bank heist opening. My favorite part of the film is the location of the film's conclusion at Potter's Field on Hart Island. A very creepy place for mass burials of the unknown homeless. So, yes...give "Don't Say a Word" its day in court, I did and I absolutely changed my mind about it half way through and ended up really enjoying myself.
