... means have SEX with) Shortly in Tina's mom's bedroom...Tina falls asleep and is murdered by Freddy right in front of Rod. It's pretty bloody too, Tina get's cut open, climbs the walls with gashes all over her and collapses into a gory splash on the bed. That scene used to give me nightmares. Nancy is left reeling from the mysterious death of her friend and is not convinced that Rod did it. She starts to investigate the mysterious man in Tina's dreams who now invades her dreams too. Freddy starts picking off the children of Elm Street one by one until Nancy figures out how to off Mr. Kruger by bringing him into the real world.

"Nightmare" has some truly scary moments. Not only was this film scary, but a real forerunner in reviving the horror genre in the 80's. Thankfully Wes Craven has produced tons more scream-fests for us in that last two decades. "Nightmare" is currently available on DVD as a single special edition or my favorite the "Nightmare Collection" which includes all films and a terrific bonus disc that includes "The Nightmare Encyclopedia."
