... Oh wait, Groundhog's Day wasn't really all that funny. Well "Ian Stone" was the one that really kept my attention.

Unearthed – This is a typical monster movie. A group of archeologist in a small out of the way town "Unearth" an ancient monster and carnage ensues. The monster is cool. The scares are few.

Tooth and Nail – Undead walk the earth and we are witness to the apocalypse. Only a handful of people have survived. Survival has become their daily routine. Tooth and Nail is nice and dark. But alas, not enough gore for me. Rider Strong (Cabin Fever) makes his second appearance of the festival.

Nightmare Man – This one kinda crosses the line of psychological horror or maybe monster movie? There's an evil mask. The Nightmare man is given a physical form through the mask, but is it all in our heroines mind? This one is a true babe fest.

Mulberry Street – I really enjoyed this one. Infected rats biting people in New York. It's like urban myth meets the mutant bubonic plague. Yay rat creatures!

Lake Dead – Some might argue with me but...this was like Wrong Turn with more chicks. Sisters go to a cabin owned by their dead grandfather to find out about an inheritance. What they find are some creepy squatters. I wish the fest could've ended with Mulberry Street. Lake Dead was okay, but, would have sat better with me if it was somewhere in the middle and not the desert.

I didn't have one I really, really disliked. The screenplays were really tight. And there are some great appearances from actors you wouldn't expect to see in horror films. So sadly if you missed the one week run of these films you'll have to wait until the DVD release. Good news is they'll have lots of special features. And you could also watch all the great DVD releases from last years Horrorfest. They'll tide you over until next year. I recommend Unrest and Penny Dreadful. So, until next year, keep an eye out for the DVD's and the pre-sell for the pass for Horrorfest '08. I'll be there sitting in the middle wondering why I'm so addicted to sitting alone in the dark.
