... on the cross statue with glowing eyes to ask for forgiveness. Meanwhile, Sue Snell (Amy Irving), Chris Hargensen, Norma Watson (P.J. Soles), Helen Shyres (Edie McClurg) and the rest of their gym class are getting punished by Mrs. Collins who gives them detention and if they ditch it means refusal of their prom tickets. Sue feels so bad that she convinces her boyfriend Tommy Ross (William Katt) to take Carrie
to the prom instead of her. Chris is so pissed that she asks her boyfriend Billy Nolan to pull some sort of prank on Carrie at the prom. Carrie slowly finds that she's telekinetic and starts to practice her new powers by making things float and terrorizing her mother who now thinks her daughter is possessed by Satan or even worse a witch. The rest of the movie is a "let's wait and see" and the anticipation is agonizing, because you just know that the ruination of Carrie White is gonna end badly.

"Carrie" is a 70's horror classic. And unlike most Stephen King novels that are adapted to the screen "Carrie" is true enough to the original novel, which I suggest. It's a pretty short read, and has awesome story points you almost wish were in the movie. The cast is a handful of 70's stars that you'll love to see in these bitchy high school characters. Bitchy they may be but all the films performances are awesome. Especially the relationship between Carrie and her mother. "Carrie" may be the ulitmate in high school blood bath films and for that reason alone is worth the watch.
