... this movie did. Maybe I'm just easily manipulated by true stories, but believe me the killer in this film is very unforgiving.
The performances in the film are solid and believable. Not that I've ever met Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr.) or Robert Greysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal) but the very down to earth take on these men don't seem like impersonations. Which is usually so friggin' hard to sit through. "Charlie Wilson's War" for example...BOO!
I usually give a long winded plot description, but I feel in "Zodiac's" case it will absolutely ruin the film for you. You just need to go in knowing that 1. It's based on an unsolved murder case. 2. It's very wordy and dramatic...so no it's not a slasher flick. And 3. It's long. I know that the above isn't the best sell, but it's a film about murder and obsession. Two of my favorite topics.
