I LOVE THIS MOVIE! What's so novel about Shaun of the Dead? Well, it's not really just a living dead movie parody...it's a little more clever than all that. It's a buddy movie/romantic comedy placed in the back ground of a living dead film.
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a loser, a mindless automaton, that strolls through life with a crappy job, a couch potato best friend Ed (Nick Frost), a day to day routine, and a girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) who can't stand their "go nowhere" relationship. So Shaun gets dumped, gets pissed, and wakes up the next morning to realize...the world is over run by the living dead. Shaun becomes a hero very quickly so as to save his mum and his girlfriend and his best friend from the flesh eating dead.
There are tons of riotous glitches on the way to heroism. He saves his mom Mary (Nicola Cunningham) only to realize his stepfather Phillip (Bill Nighy) has been bitten...and is obviously soon to become a brain ...
