If this movie wasn't sold to me so hardcore as a thriller or even horror-esque I might have really liked it. It's romantic and mysterious. It has the potential to be a bit of a tear jerker...if you're not sitting there waiting for something scary to happen. One more thing it's a friggin' Kevin Costner film. Oh wait...A romantic mysterious thriller that pulls at the heart strings starring Kevin Costner? Well, at least the studio knows how to put a film together for a certain demographic, but, it's certainly not mine. I don't have a uterus, who knew?
Dr. Joe Darrow (Kevin Costner) is grieving the loss of his wife Emily (Susanna Thompson). Emily was part of a Red Cross mission to help a village in Venezuela, she was pregnant, and a huge fan of Dragonflies. The love of the Dragonfly was rooted in a birthmark she shared with her grandfather. Joe's grieving period is much more than that seeing as how he really has no closure with his wifes death, no body was found.
