Fallen is one of the reasons I dislike mainstream horror. Not even horror actually; Fallen is really a thriller with no thrill. Given, the film is 10 years old. At the time of its release it was very popular to make a formula film that was almost scary and put all of Hollywood's elite talent in it to sell tickets. It's a bum argument because that's what they do with every movie these days but let a man have his say.
Detective John Hobbes (Denzel Washington) is present at the execution of killer Edgar Reese (Elias Koteas). Hobbes brought the killer in ending a bloody spree. But at Reese's execution Edgar makes a huge scene in the gas chamber that the Detective can't shake and shortly after murders with the same M.O. as Reese's start happening. Is it a copy cat or can it be that John Hobbes is witnessing a haunting of sorts?
