House of Wax (2007)

Most of the films presented by the newish Dark Castle Company have been really fun remakes. And "House of Wax" is no exception. It's kind of funny, it's gruesome, and bonus we get to see a large pole shot through Paris Hilton's head. Price of admission totally worth it.

The set up is pretty much for the teeny bopper set...bunch of kids out to party go out for a camping trip and get stranded near a deserted town. Carly Jones (Elisha Cuthbert) and Nick Jones (Chad Michael Murray) are our main focus. Sure there are other kids on the camping trip but we're meant to focus on the beauty of Carly and Nick, it's pretty obvious these are the two that may survive the on coming blood bath. Other friends on hand are the couple Paige (Paris Hilton) and Blake (Robert Ri'chard), and two more boneheads Wade (Jared Padelecki) and Dalton (Jon Abrahams). Now, I'm going to repeat these character names and you tell me if it doesn't sound like a Cracker tea party somewhere in Connecticut. Carly, Nick, Dalton, Wade, Blake and Paige. Is no one named Mike anymore, or maybe just Sarah? Oy.
