Just when you thought it was safe to watch VHS tapes again The Ring Two sweeps in to usher out the era non digital media. The Ring Three will probably be about a haunted DVD. Thing is I really liked The Ring, but this sequel is really very...not boring, just not interesting.
We open on an angsty date at a swing set. To get the story behind the date watch RINGS which is in the special features. Emily (Emily VanCamp) is in disbelief that suddenly popular Jake (Ryan Merriman) would want a date with her, and she's right, Jake just wants to pass along the curse and make innocent little Emily watch a creepy video that (if you've seen The Ring you know the following) after you watch it you die 7 days later unless you copy the tape and show some other sucker it's contents. Emily covers her eyes during the tape playing and Jake bites it at the stroke of midnight. Moral of our prologue? NEVER trust a virgin.
