"Poltergeist" is a really original film. So many horror stereotypes come from this single movie. Until recently I hadn't even noticed that it has been directed by Tobe Hooper. Not only is it truly scary and original, but one of those films with a legacy of odd deaths surrounding the cast. You'll have to do research on that yourself, but it's kind of creepy.
Steve (Craig T. Nelson) and Diane (JoBeth Williams) Freeling have just moved into the new home of their dreams with their beautiful family...oldest daughter Dana (Dominique Dunne), brother Robbie (Oliver Robbins) and youngest daughter Carole Anne(Heather O'Rourke). Not everything is perfect in the Freeling family and it almost seems that the house can sense it, then things really start going crazy.
