Resident Evil is by far my favorite Survival Horror video game. So when this came out in theaters I was first in line. One of the only people in line. What I expected was a half-ass retelling of a kinda crappy video game script. Yes, I may be a RE fan...but I never said the game stories were any good. The movie story, not based on any of the main video game characters, was pretty great. Throw in some Milla and what more could you ask for?
Much like the video game the movie opens with a description of a large industrial chemical company called Umbrella. After the intro we're given a glimpse of the inside of the company. A virtual bee hive of activity. Until...an act of seemingly clever industrial espionage goes wrong and releases a chemical into the air. It sets of alarms all over their offices and seals them off. The building traps all of it's employees inside to keep the spread of whatever virus may have escaped. The computer alert system gasses them all....employee benefits canceled. Shortly after we meet our films heroin, a Jane Doe (Milla Jovovich) of sorts laying naked on the floor of a shower in a very large mansion. There's one other person (Eric Mabius) in ...
