Ah...the birth of a movie monster. "Nightmare" is so full of awesomeness, and screening after screening it holds up as a solid horror film and not just B-Movie fodder. I won't disagree that most of it's sequels don't hold water and Freddy (Robert Englund) becomes more of a joke than an actual menace, but that first taste of Wes Craven's nightmare world on Elm Street can almost propel you through all those crappy sequels just to see what happens...but, part 3 does kinda rock.
Tina (Amanda Wyss) is having terrifying dreams about a man with knives for fingers that wants to kill her. Tina is losing sleep and her mind. The next day at school she tries to tell her friends Nancy (Heather Langencamp) and Glen (Johnny Depp) how horrid her nightmares have become and they all laugh it off. The gang decides to have an impromptu slumber party at Tina's house while her mom is out of town so she's not afraid to sleep. That night Tina, Glen and Nancy are hanging out when Tina's on-again/off-again trashy greaser boyfriend Rod (Jsu Garcia) show's up to "help" Tina get to sleep. (HELP ...
