"From Hell" has been one of my favorite Graphic Novels since its publication back in 1990. It's an awesome retelling of the unsolved Jack the Ripper murders in London, 1888. The Hughes Brothers stay so close the comic book that the movie ends up being a wonderfully satisfying screen adaptation.

Inspector Frederick Abberline (Johnny Depp) has a reputation for being clairvoyant, and his instincts come in very handy when dealing with certain delicate cases. Unfortunately Freddy also has a reputation for "Chasing the Dragon"...the only place you'll find him is in the seedy Opium dens in darkest London town. One of his only trusted colleagues, Sergeant Peter Godley (Robbie Coltrane), has come to enlist his services on a murder most foul.
