To me the charm of the Scream Trilogy is it's progression from the scary one, to the not as good college sequel, to the final horror Hollywood comedy that is Scream 3. Scream 3 isn't a comedy you say? My foot it isn't. Maybe not on par with Airplane, but it certainly takes its satirical strike at the Hollywood machine. I think it's a pretty brilliant well conceived last act.

Much like the first two films we get a great cliffhanging prologue before the title sequence where we catch up with Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber). If you don't remember Cotton, he was the guy pinned with the murder of Maureen Prescott in "Scream" and one of the heroes in the closing scenes of "Scream 2". Cotton has done well for himself; he has his own talk show and a hot new girlfriend Christine (Kelly Rutherford). But we don't get to know them too well seeing as how the ghost face killer shows up and hacks them both to bits revealing he has a new toy that copies peoples voices. Dun dun dun!

Now to catch up with the rest of the gang that isn't dead. Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) is on the lecture circuit and hosts a tabloid tell-all show called "Total Entertainment".
