Alright my creepy little darlings Uncle Kreepshow has been gazing into his crystal ball and has come up with a crop of terrifying tales for 2011. The 80’s are big in Hollywood these days. We’ve had remakes of Last House on the Left, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. It should be no surprise that an ’80s classic, The Thing, should find it’s way into the 2011 horror line up, but not in the way you might expect. Rather than taking us down the same old road as the original, director Matthijis van Heijningen is doing a prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 SciFi horror classic. Details on the plot specifics are locked up tighter than a zombie proof panic room, but the cast is shaping up to be top notch for the genre. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who you might recognize from her work in Black Christmas, Ring 2, and most recently Scott Pilgrim vs. The World , joins Joel Edgerton and Jonathan Lloyd Walker amongst others to form what looks to be a solid cast with a lot of SciFi and Horror experience under their collective belt. Expect this chilling tale to hit the big screen April 29th.

Next up we’ve got one that everyone should be painfully familiar with by now. Jigsaw makes yet another appearance on the big screen for what looks to be the final chapter of the Saw series. Not a lot has been leaked about this upcoming film, but Tobin Bell is set to reprise his performance as Jigsaw. I’m not sure exactly how this one is going to play out, and frankly I don’t believe for a second that they are really going to let Saw die after this. Remember they said the same thing about Jason and Freddy and look where we are now. I’m willing to bet that there will be lots of sadistic choices and brutal machinery in this one so all you gorehounds out there will get your fill. Expect more information as the October 22nd release date creeps closer. If you can’t get enough of Jigsaw then this is going to be the 2011 Halloween horror show for you.

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark promises to be an interesting little film. Co-written by Guillermo del Toro I would expect to see a lot of his narrative style, which was so artfully showcased in Pan’s Labyrinth, coming out in this chiller. This story is sure to resonate with the child in all of us as it follows a young girl sent to live with her father and the strange creatures in her new home that want to claim her as one of their own. Katie Holmes has signed on for this one alongside Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison. I’m not entirely sure this cast will be able to pull of a truly chilling tale, but I’m prepared and hoping to be shocked. Look for this one to hit theaters January 21st.

Last up in my list of horrific tales is Priest. This one is pretty hard to define. It straddles a line between action and horror, although expect to see more action. Priest is loosely based on the Korean graphic novel of the same name and follows a warrior priest some one hundred years in the future where Satanists and Christians are embroiled in an apocalyptic war. With the help of a young sheriff and a priestess the priest must try to rescue his niece from a vampiric cult of Satanists before they can brainwash her. I’ve actually read the graphic novels and the story is solid. Is it a horror tale? Not exactly. If they stick to the graphic novel style then there should be arterial spray a plenty for those of you who just can’t sit through a movie unless a pint a minute is being spilled on screen. This one is lined up to release on May 13th.

That’s all for now my darkling darlings. I’ll be keeping you updated with the latest news and reviews as these frightening flicks present themselves, and remember Uncle Kreepshow loves you and you’ll get all the latest and greatest gore fests and top notch terror here at allhorrofilms.com because we understand your passions and we won’t call the police.

No, not because the main character reminds me of my ex-girlfriend…because this looks like it could be a great indy flick that unravels with plenty of mystery, elegance, and violence. The film was completed in 28 days. Could be hard to pass up if you are in the mood for a quality, low budget flick!

This is the kind of moment I live for.

People working together, doing what it takes to make something just that much better, a little more cringe worthy, a deeper peek into the characters twisted essence or victims pain. Being in a situation im hopefully never going to encounter in real life, but still being someone believable and doing them justice in that moment.

There are those of us that become bored and generally unimpressed within the four walls of an office, ignoring the droning sounds of everyday monotony.
Nothing the blood sweat and tears and pure commitment put into a good horror film can’t fix! Turning anyones four walls into a gruesome murder scene were the screams of tortured victims drown out any other dull sound.
I personally really enjoy being a part of that little horrific escape.

I’m not the type to enjoy doing the same thing every day and, although I wasn’t truly shovel bashed or carved up, I was tied to support beams with rope-not the soft fun kind of rope. I wasn’t actually left to my death naked and bleeding, but I was confined to a real basement made of dirt, darkness, and enough space to kneel, mostly naked and covered in fair amount of fake blood. And even though I wasn’t really the lover a German psycho killer, I did have Zoey pinch my nipples before slicing open my dress-not for personal enjoyment but rather to capture the “cold look”
And even though at the end of it all I was cut lose and given a clean towel and a shower, I did still go home with real rope burns at my wrist and bits of matted fake blood in my hair.

Just little reminders when laying down to sleep and recapping my day, that I don’t have an office job and I love it! Thanks to all the wonderful people I have had the pleasure of working with, I intend to find myself covered in blood like substances or at least tied up, very soon.-Amber Rose

A group of friends in LA go out for a “good time” and bring home a streetwalker. The night gets a little rough when the woman gets murdered, but that’s just the beginning of their problems! She returns back to seek revenge! Sounds like Very Bad Things with an extra dash of dirty. Check out the early spring DVD release!
