I couldn't even give this film a shot. I didn't read one good thing about it, nor read any insights as to why Marshall wanted to make a film like this. Marshall has a lot of ideas, this is certain. Anyone read up on his next film? Sounds like an emotional war/thriller. I'm still not sure what to think about this Editor turned Director. I remember the first 20 minutes of Dog Soldiers. What a mess.

I have to agree with you completely here...a terrible failure after the success of Dog Soldiers and The Descent. There is a very fine line between homage and plagiarism, and vast parts of Doomsday feel as though they have been pilfered by an ideas thief. Marshall wrote this as well as directed it, so I guess the blame lies squarely with him. What is even worse is how serious this film is taken by all involved - making it humourless as well as drab. You know a movie is trouble when the chief protagonists are named after biblical characters. It also had a very odd 80's thing going on, with both the soundtrack and the weird new romantic looking cannibal cult....awful rubbish.
