I was so hyped about this movie. First of all the script was co-authored by Wes Craven. Secondly, it stars both Kristen Bell (you know, Veronica Mars) and Ian Somerhalder (Boone from Lost). As great as those three people are and a great motivator for me to see a film, it’s a remake of another Japanese terror import. Now, this isn’t the straight forward ghost story that we’re used …

The Hills Have Eyes and its sequel are two of my favorite slasher/horror films. And believe me the originals are just as fantastic. But this remake is pretty amazing and amazingly scary.
The Carter’s decide to take a family vacation. It’s been ages since they had one, so the whole “fam” takes off in a bit of a caravan consisting of one Winnebago and a truck. The family consists …

Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) seems to have it made. He’s got the perfect girlfriend, Amy (Shiri Appleby), he’s got a job, and he’s got Stanford scouts coming to see him swim. Jesse is looking at a sports scholarship in his near future. Until trouble shows up. Enter Madison Bell (Erika Christensen). She’s extremely easy on the eyes, easy to talk to….well; actually Madison is just plain easy as …

Fallen is one of the reasons I dislike mainstream horror. Not even horror actually; Fallen is really a thriller with no thrill. Given, the film is 10 years old. At the time of its release it was very popular to make a formula film that was almost scary and put all of Hollywood’s elite talent in it to sell tickets. It’s a bum argument because that’s what they …

If you loved “Austin Powers” you’re going to love this movie. It’s a wacky killer thriller from the early 70’s. The design of this film is so bright and peculiar it makes you smile even when Locust are eating the flesh from a nurses skull. And who can resist Vincent Price? Who I say?
Dr. Anton Phibes (Vincent Price) has lost his wife in what he thinks was a …

“Swimming Pool” is a slow burn erotic thriller with a “Twilight Zone” twist. The movie may be a bit slow, but you get sucked in pretty quick. There’s plenty of nudity and some lewd behavior. Ahh, the French. Why do Americans give them such a bad rap? I for one LOVE lewd behavior. Pass me the brie and steal my deodorant, I’m moving.
Sarah Morton (Charlotte Rampling) …

Most of the films presented by the newish Dark Castle Company have been really fun remakes. And “House of Wax” is no exception. It’s kind of funny, it’s gruesome, and bonus we get to see a large pole shot through Paris Hilton’s head. Price of admission totally worth it.
The set up is pretty much for the teeny bopper set…bunch of kids out to party go out for a camping …

Why oh why waste so much money…when they could have just made “The Parent Trap II”. Before I start the chat about the actual film…when was “Mean Girls”? Only 3 years ago. Poor, poor Lindsey looks sooooo tired from frame one in this film. What has happened? At least one of the characters she played in this film was a haggard tired looking stripper…thank god for type …

This movie is a hoot. “The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra” is what you get if you had tried to make “Plan 9 From Outer Space” on purpose. It’s a brilliant idea actually. One of the hardest things to do is to get a good actor to act badly. But they do a great job in this film.
Dr. Paul Armstrong (Larry Blamire) and his wife Betty (Fay Masterson) or …

When I finally got the chance to see “Don’t Say a Word” I was not in the kindest of moods, I had already decided that this was a crappy formula film…however, they got me reeled in because Brittany Murphy and Famke Janssen are both in the film. Needless to say the babe content was making this movie instantly rentable, but not so much likable.
Dr. Nathan R. Conrad (Michael Douglas) is a …

Our First Look Into The Descent: Part 2

Neil Marshall steps aside, but not completely off the film set, for this much anticipated sequel.  The original Descent was directed by Mr. Marshall, and while he’s producing the sequel, the editor of the first installment has given the film a go as director.  Even though this is Jon Harris’s directorial debut, expect much of the same in respects to the brutal carnage, claustrophobic dwellings, and fast paced action.
Sarah finds herself returning …

Paranormal Activity a HUGE Hit Overseas!

PA made quite an impression on domestic audiences.  The film cost $15,000 to shoot in just two weeks.  How much did the film gross domestically?  A little over 100 million!  Well, it turns out that the film is becoming just as huge of a hit overseas.  Within its opening week in countries such as the U.K and Germany, it raked in just a little over 35 million at box offices.
